It was disapointing to say the least. Very little about the Pellet Grill or it's use. Drama is right, I actually thought that they showed the pellet grills in a bad light, running out of fuel, catching fire etc, it wasdn't until near the end that Andy told them to leave the lid down. All of that was just for dramatic effect at the expense of the pellet grills. No wonder they had timing issues, however it was not about the pellet grills it was about the cooks and their attempts to win masterchef. Based on what I saw they all failed.
We know that pellet grills behave extremely well, if the users knows what they are doing, no matter what the brand.
Dave, I moved your post to quarrantine for a while as the mod/admin team needed to have a discussion regarding guests posting in this forum. It was decided by the team that it was OK in this instance, but we are taking steps to prevent it which is inline with the other forums setups. Your post is back where you put it.

Hmm, I'd have to agree on the show but in the end it was still publicity for the brand and for pellet grills in general. When I first heard about it I kind thought oh, oh, if they don't know how to use a grill properly this could get interesting. It quickly became apparent that they probably had a ten minute tutorial and were turned loose with only a fraction of them even really aware of what they were to be cooking. I guess it was just as well Weber were not invited The results were a bit mixed to say the least but compared to some other crazy things they've been tasked with this season it was sort of par for the course. Cheers

Thanks Captain, Unfortunately with proboards Guests can post (If they are live). I can disable that but that results in members being required to login to read any part of the forum. As this forum is eventually moving house, The minor problem will cease. My thoughts on the Show, As always its a mock up drama, Nothing is real about it. Yes Its disappointing we didnt get to see the ins and outs but we are BBQ tragic s, We know too much. However for the potential tragic out there that isn't one yet? Ears would of pricked,,, What the hell are those things? That leads to a search and possibly into a community where help is sort. The Australian BBQ community is pretty well switched on with its three forums ready to help these people. I see only a positive and more larger manufactures and Importers should realize this. People listen to ground level enthusiasts. First rule of sales is Do I have your Attention, I'm sure the show achieved that.

Watched it and was suprised that one ran out. Thought then that a pellet grill may not be for me if they chew through fuel like that. On the Project last night Jessica explained that she filled theirs up to the brim. The others didn't know to do that.
Regularly watch it to get ideas. Yes there's plenty of drama but it's a TV show and like Mick said. We know too much and were expecting different things. The show is all about challenging the contestants to perform out of their comfort zone.
That part they achieved.
Had a look at the website and their rubs and sauces don't look too bad. Might base something around one of them yet. [
when I got to work the next morning a couple of people wanted to know about pellet grills, how much, how they work etc and bbq techniques so the show did put some interest out there.
Masterchef is like all reality TV and was accurately described by an English teacher I had over 30 years ago.
" Television is nothing but chewing gum for your eyeballs"
