There's a job waiting for you street cooking, anywhere in Asia Nice work, and yes compliments to the cameraman. That is a long time to upload a couple of minutes of content, I'll do a bit of research. Cheers

Wow!!
The number of complaints about upload times to YouTube is incredible.
It would seem it's a number of factors not least the sheer popularity of the service but also the size of files being created because of big improvements in video quality.
Google own the service and I have friends there will see if they are working on improving it.
Cheers

Good camera work. Haven't tried YouTube to see how it worked but if the Aussiecue channel ends up as good as that,it'll be a winner.
My eldest bloke has done a heap of work finding out about and getting ready for selling advertising space in his videos. There's that option to help meet the costs of hosting if necessary.

That'll be fun. I had a sort of a reply from my mates at Mountain View (Google) but I don't really like it much. It is as suspected, the file sizes are increasing faster than even SOTA bandwidth and storage distribution plus upload quantity can accommodate, leads to long queues and hence the sluggish uploads. It sort of gets a bit worse though, the tyranny of installed base - YouTube has a proprietary codeset that is the core of the service that smooths out, mostly, the streaming. That code really wants to work with uncompressed files and is locked to older file types so uploading compressed files does not really work. Amazing - a near on $2B at purchase valuation business mired in obsolete tech - If only I had known a decade ago when working on compression Google will be looking to improve things but don't hold your breath, the problem is not impacting the bottom line and they are so much more interested in making a driverless car Cheers
