Today I spent about an hour at Tweed Heads BBQs Galor looking over everything they had. I told the manager why I was there, On behalf of this forum and he was happy to let me ransack through everything. The convo got to their turbo line, I was interested to get a good understanding of the RQT technology so we fired one up. I was impressed by the radiant heat just one burner gives off, Very even and super hot when turned to 11. I red balled it and poured oil over the some type of crystal glass and it rolled off with just a puff of bbq smoke. Then I poured water over it and it just steamed up, No glass shock. Im verily impressed and could see myself happy as a user. Build quality of the unit itself is mid to med high range. Id want a few hundred off for this reason. But not a bad bbq at all. Id love to grill a steak, Chicken wings and a roast beef on one of these to confirm my thoughts on how good the radiant heat is. Note that I have didly squat association with any bbq brand or company  |

A mate of mine has a four burner turbo built in. Gets nice and hot for a good sear but not sure it is worth the two and a half grand he paid for it.

Heh, The local BBQG had a demo of the turbo couple of weeks back, I just happened to be passing but I had to say, damned impressive food. Ziggy really are becoming a force to reckon with, I was extremely tempted when I bought the Weber Q200 but the brand did sway me in the end, had too much good with Weber. I think it is nothing but healthy though, competition always improves the breed ( I don't recall exactly who I heard it from but apparently a very, very early customer for a Ziggy Bug, somewhere in Asia, was the local Weber guy ) Cheers |

Sorry Chris, I should have stated, Z&B are now the brand name for the large Turbo series that have been around for yonks.
They are obviously comfortable in the Ziggy brand image to move it onto their large bbq range.

I've got the Z&B twin burner, the oval one and just love it. Great for a quick breaky or a steak or a roast if I don't feel like using the pellet or kamado. But in general the Z&B is for quick cooks, the others for more serious meals. For me there were 2 reasons for it over the Webber 1. Two burners, and 2. I could get a red one. It goes faster you know  |
