I've not been in your neck of the woods for rather a long time mate but if you have those stores there great, the stuff that comes and goes is quite amazing actually I hadn't googled Masters but when I did this came up: www.masters.com.au/product/101181921/master-forge-kettle-bbq-22-cbc835lWithout seeing it and it may be a bit the other side of your budget given when you are leaving our shores it looked pretty good to me but believe me Mick is the one to tell you what is the best buy and he seems pretty happy to just give you a spare Cheers

G'day This is a basic knock off of the webber Smokie joe. I brought the same small type knock off and used it to build a copy WSM . A great amount of fun. But is it as good as the original. No way. The smokie joe has thicker metal. Is baked enamel not paint. Has thicker grates. At $ 59 as $99 for the smokie at masters, well..... At bunning the same type of patio cooker .. $ 29 and my local Qld had them for $ 10 each. I bought 2 for the extra grate and that's suites me. If I was to experiemnt with a small patio type cooker.., why not. But don't pay top dollar to experiement. Regards dave

Saw this just before my wife prevailed upon me to go pick up a new slow cooker - Sunbeam one that sears - she's been after one for a while and Good Guys have them on special. Ray's are sort of across from the store so dropped in for a look. Yep, that's the goods for your intro and short-term use Ozy Cheers

Just noticed it will fit Weber 22 inch grills, so I may be looking for one of the hinged ones, or even the one with the cas iron in the middle.

The hinged grills are handy but come in at the $50 mark. I have full cast iron grills but still roast or slow cook with the wire grills. The CI grills tend to drag too much heat across and under the meat when doing offset indirect. The one with the centre CI sounds like a good go-between. Apart from looking at what Shayneh does on his kettles, The You Tube channel "bbq Pit Boys" really freed up the way I use a kettle. I basicly threw away the book.

Where did you get the CI grills? I love CI on steaks and CI+Charcoal sound like a winning combination

I got mine from Urbangriller some years ago. I'm not so sure he still stocks them as I cannot see them on his web site. Try email him, He might know if they are still available in AU. They would be a biach to import due to weight. They kind of hit the scene then dissapered. Im sure you can get a CI 22" grill from bunnys or masters. Will look into it
