The 2007 Performer arrives
This is my earliest model now. The line up is now-
2007 Aus model = $80 Second hand
2010 Aus model = $150 Second hand
2013 US model = $457 New
That’s three for less than the price of one new local purchase
Right, I picked it up today from a couple that moved here from Washington DC for work, and were going back for good, so the entire contents (picked up a microwave too, and cheap) of the house was being sold off.
Here is the listing and note the price .
Also note that lid bail.
When I rang them last night, I didn’t even notice the lid bail defect, and when asked the condition, they said it was perfect all over.
Upon arrival, I noticed that, and as well it had a knock to the hat, pointed it out but didn’t make a big deal out of it as I knew I got a major bargain, and guess what,,,,,,, they felt so bad over it, they knocked a further 20 bux off the price. I refused but ………………. A 2007 Performer for 80 bux .
The damage to the lid I can deal with and the bail, well, that was an easy fix as I had the genuine Weber hardware at home.
So, I had to dismantle her to bring her home, then gave her a bit of a tub then fitted her back up.
There is also paint on the bench where it looks as though they have rested a leaking paint tin on it. Removing it will be a job down the road.
Another bonus is that its already setup to take the US style Coleman gas canisters for the gas assist ignition. Came with a near full canister too. Gas ignition has been tested and works like a dream
The ash catcher is in primo cond
And take a browse at the rest of the pics.
Note the great condition of the damper fins. These are a part that fail if not looked after. My Pizza freedstanding 57 Gold Kettle has worn and flimsy damper fins, making it hard to shut down at the end of a cook.
And as said, the lid has a bit of damage. Looks like it has been dropped
Fully assembled and ready to rock and roll
As said on Micks clutter thread, this will be replacing an older free standing redhead (its all ready on the Gtree) and will become my new Rottiserie work station.
I cant wait to test her on the weekend.
One very happy BBQer and that's Shayno
