Had the day off the other day so I could take the eldest son in to be fitted for braces later that afrternoon and asked him what he wanted for lunch that he wouldn't be able to eat for a while. Straight up. "Baby Octopus might be a bit too chewy so I'll have some today". Marinated in Red Wine, soy sauce, hoisin sauce and just a tiny bit of garlic because the orthodontist didn't need to smell him. Onto a super hot flat plate on the gas BBQ (time constraints) and served with rice. No pictures of that, my hand would have been eaten. Was good.

Well done Dad Ive been through the braces thing with my eldest son for the last few years. It does take some adjustment on what we cook to include him on good meals. He sucked that last pork crackle even though I give him the best most fizzy bits. He might get cranky at the start, Mine did and it tore me apart but the light at the end of the tunnel is only a few months away for him and it totally worked. Two teeth removed and a mouth full of braces turned a pronounced overbite into a normal handsome face. Let him eat whatever he wants to eat is what I did. Luckily we are good at slow cooked meat. being a bbq man was a god send for my little bloke.

Friday night was a Moroccan lamb stew using diced chump chops for plenty of fatty tasty goodness and slow cooked for several hours in a pot with stock and honey. Ras El Hanout spice mix the brother in law brought back from Morocco, vegies, apricots, dates, raisins and a great heap of mashed potato. So soft and flavoursome.
He was wrapped, watching the Brumbies get beaten wasn't a problem with a belly full of spicy meat.
He's already got orders in for pulled pork and beef ragout. I get to indulge my hobby and he'll be happy.

Oh yeh Angus
I actually bought two bags of those Aldi Occy's, with the first bag done using your first recipe (when aldi first had em) and it was a hit
How do you compare this style to the last..... as I need an idea for this next lot.
It looks great in the pictures.

Was pretty good. I'd do it again for sure but add a bit of chilli just to give it a lift.
I love octopus any way they're cooked.
Checked with the son to see which was his preferred and he just said.
Do half of each.
