That is the question. I haven't used my kettle in years and the WSM hasn't seen service for some time. I get to thinking I could do everything I need on a big gas bbq or the pellet bbq ( one might go) , and the big green egg. My back porch is a little cluttered, So the missus says and I have to agree. Ive got stuff everywhere. And yes I got a dressing down today about why do I need so many BBQ's when I only use two of them. That got me to thinking, I really do only need two. Convenience for speed and Fire for fun.

How dare you! From what I can see in the list above you don't have enough toys - where's the Cyprus grill? Tandoor? Pizza Oven?
Actually - I can understand I've got too many toys - ones I only use every couple of months - but I want em & I don't have a better half who can put as limit on my hobby.
My main units are the gasser (Ziggy) for quick cooks, Pellet or Kamado for main meal cooks. The others are for "specials" & are only used now & then. Since it's getting cooler the Hark smoker is going to come out 'cause I've been wanting to do bacon for a while & I do want to try making ham & some other Charcuterie.
So turn the Kettle into a herb garden & keep the WSM for bacon.

You need 3 - Summit for sure, Egg, and toss up between pellet and kettle - I find the smoke is more controllable on the kettle but the temps are more controllable on the pellet but you can use a smoke generator/box in the pellet.
Been thinking the same thing but only thinking.

I would never ever be allowed to have as many as you guys have, which is fine because I'd never do them justice anyway. A kettle and the Q200 are all I need Cheers

Might have to meet half way and build a small shed to put all the stuff in. I can't bare to get rid of them. That would just leave three BBQ's on the patio. Its not just the BBQ's, it's all the various grills, hot plates, spit, and other stuff that seems to pile up.

Got the same problem and getting the same comments.
Planning to make a bench with the kettle in it, use up an off it of kitchen bench stone, shelf for the mini spit and storage for all the rest of chimneys, bits and pieces.
Winter project in the shed.

G'day smokie I was lucky in a way, the navy moved me around and I left a few brick wood fired bbqs behind. No room for clutter. My 80s era webber finally got killed with accelerated wear... Run over by a 4 wheel drive on a sons weekend away. Perfect opportunity to build a wood fired oven, and I did. Do miss the webber. But I'm wanting to build something again. An upright smoker. Got some of the pieces. Some 1/2 formed plans. If I finish the bathroom painting and new sink, I might just slip it past the minister of war and finance ... Might Regards dave

Really my problem is more indoors than out, my wife never bbq'd until we met, I'm still dealing with a degree of prejudice to the cooking form, but winning her over. However she's an avid cook and at the moment we have pretty much two or more of everything in the kitchen gadget department, this despite equipping some of the kids' kitchens pretty thoroughly. Now she's looking with interest at a Vitamix... Cheers

I'm good for outdoor stuff, my challenge is indoor gadgets, I have a list of things I'd like but due to space constraints and a wife that likes things tidy, its just a dream list.

And, I just cant help myself
Your talking about downgrading some of your toys Mick, and, I have more coming
Tomorrow, I am picking up my third Performer
Not a bad thing really, as, It will be taking the place of my red head (the type with the three daisy wheel dampers in the lower bowl). The red head will be moving on, kissing it good bye to fleabay
With a little bit of re-arranging on the back porch, it will be fronting up to the role and taking over on Rottiserie duties.
Its a ++ scenario as, with the rotti set up on a free standing kettle (what I am putting up with ATM) I find myself always thumbling around for bench space when loading/unloading the rotti rod. Not no more.
Finally, I think the almost giveaway price the seller had on it helped make up my mind

Nice purchase Shayne, I wonder what the old girl will fetch. They must be collector status by now.

This blender i have is awesome, chops up raw veggies like nothing else has 5 yr warranty.....for a 3rd of the price of Vitamix. I'm on my mobileand i can't put link up here but i have the Omni-blend V. Highly recommend it. Theres also heaps of comparos on youtube. Cheers Davo
