G'day I'm Dave , I live in Manly West in Brisbane. I love to cook and my favorite tools are a 4 yr old webber Q 200 that is the workhorse in the hot summer months on the back verandah and a wood fired oven. It's still to hot to flash the WFO still but come the cooler months ...... Tonight's meal is tandoori prawns on the webber cooked on the trivet then whip the aluminum foil out and try to get a grill without the scorch, (thanks captain cook). Fuffy white rice and boc chow in seasame oil and garlic. Sounds good but we'll see how it goes, and if it's good and repeatable, I'll serve it to my guest in the future. ( hate experimenting on guests, family, that's a different matter) Regards dave

Welcome I tend to agree with guests, nice to have made sure something is good first That said sounds pretty good, I've a Q200 myself, very useful when the kettle is not really practical or there's a fire ban. Cheers

G'day Thanks for the welcome! Well, Kevin, I do beg to differ, but it does get cold here. And I too have my winter preparations to attend to. My back door stays open 24/7, we only lock the security screen most times. I'll have to break out the WD 40 and get the hindges working, cause come June July were sure to get some really cold days, and it will have to be closed. Some winters it can be closed for 2 to 3 weeks at a time.! Tea last night took a bit of a turn as the wife had brought pealed prawns with tail attached. She had already had them marinating with the tandoori spices so that was good. I had planned to use whole prawns, de-leg and de-whisker, split the back shell , and marinate. Threw me for a minute but threaded them on some skewers and cooked the direct. Turned out pretty good. Cooked fast enough not to burn the tandoori mix. The bok chow turned out really well. Seasame oil, some garlic and ginger, wilt the chow, some soy sauce. I recon even the kids would eat this, the wife commented that it would be a great way to cook Brussel sprouts. As long as she will eat them, why not. Me I'll reserve my judgement in that..... Regards dave

Hah, Good come back Yes it gets cold here but nothin like where Old Kev lives. That cook up sounded great. And I simply love grilled Brussel sprouts. Only way to bring out their nutty flavour.
