First harvest of the Golden Glow melons and it's a whopper. 12.1 kilo on the bathroom scales and pretty nice on the tooth. Family looked at it a bit funny when it was cut because of the colour but it's juicy and tasty and there's bucket loads. Got a couple more on the plant so a batch of watermelon and chilli sauce using this and some of the five million bloody scorpions I've got might be in order. Anybody want some dried butch t scorpions? I'll send them in a hazmat container.

Yep, they're your seeds.
Wet summer with a few sunny days so the plant went mental. Put a few seeds in, got two good sprouts and one took off.
A couple of young melons broke off and I picked one way too early so I'll end up with three or four of these giant melons.
Good result for first time out. Know better for next year.
Don't plant them too close to the chillies, treat them with more neglect and make sure they're not thirsty.
Thanks Mick.

Make pickled water melon rind from the pit cue co book. It's bloody excellent with all the bbq meats we make

That fissuring inside is normal for the type. Seems to be quite a reliable variety.
