Anyone got somthing planned?. Edit, Name changed to what's cookin at the Moment or planning to cook, Rather than what DID you cook. If you have something on the go and feel the need to share

Thinking about having a crack at a Southern African dish called Bobotie.
Recipe reads like a curried & fruity version of a shepherds pie with a scrambled egg top rather than a mashed potato one.
Experiment number one will be done in the oven to guarantee a bit of control over the temp before I try it in the kettle.

Bobotie is delicious mate, I'd nearly forgotten it until recently but working with some mad South Africans at the moment Nothing massive here at the moment on this (long in WA) weekend, found some good scallops so madam has an order placed for a marinara Depending upon the weather might do something on the kettle for Monday. Cheers

I'm reverse searing a couple of tomahawks on the kamado tonight while drinking a lot of beer. Chrisg's mention of scallops has me thinking Surf & Turf.

Grilled scallops, very nice, only better way might be pan seared for that crust! Weather sucks here, 8cm of snow left on ground, high temps 0°c...just no fun to do anything outside!
12 years of Southern Californian weather has made me a Wuss!

Did a seafood platter. Ended up a bit over the top. 3 lobster whole (from Costco small each about 300g. Canadian) 4 Balmain Bugs 1 blue swimmer crab 12 Sydney rock oyster kilpatrick 6 pacific oyster plain just with lemon 6 scallops on shell Coquilles St. Jacques style 4 calarmari salt and pepper 12 medium tiger king prawns. Grilled in a Thai sauce 1 kg cooked small king prawns
Served up with a fruit platter mainly melons and strawberries and a green salad.
Simple, great and way too much for 4.
Cheers

No, really gatsby ? The scallops, well some of them, worked out very well with some other seafood in a marinara, they just looked too good to do all of them that way, will be doing the remainder exactly as Bentley says, pan-seared tomorrow Cheers

Some nice tucker everyone is hooking into. Today I've been making a Malay beef curry. It's turning out well so far.

Damn that looks so good. I almost ended up licking the monitor.
Makes my half failed Bobotie look like dog food.

I had to run to the pantry, the only seafood I could find was a tin of sardines and a tin of smoked oysters I ate the oysters but still have a craving for that spread.
