This here is my six year old Tweed crisp jackfruit about to go it's second year of production. And look what I have in here, Id say about 8-10 kg These things are sickly sweet and are crunchy like pineapple rather then the normal bubble gum texture of old style jaks. Have heaps more baby's on the way. The reason for this post, Aparently they can cook up to resemble pulled pork (Google it) Should be some fun. Oh, This was a 40kg bunch of bananas missing half I've given away. I need to sort something and Quik

Nice stuff Mick.
I envy you to be able to grow those delights being your sub tropical location.
Its a great feeling producing produce straight from your backyard that s##ts on anything (in taste and freshness) offered from the store.

Echo Shayne's thoughts, lucky if I can get much of anything to grow in this sandpit Have not had Jackfruit in an age, didn't much care for the ones in Darwin this sounds different? Cheers

Yeh, this type was a freak Crisp variety grown at Tropical fruit world just down the road. They are ok for a taste but I think better processed in some way like jarred in syrup. They arnt insipid but rather sickly sweet. Last year everyone liked it but one nodule was enough. A lot got given away or left to rot on the ground. This time I need to think about doing something with it. Grilling some should go well and now that I'm more set up for canning, That too
