This is an interesting way to cook bacon. Thoughts?

Well there you go.
Would never have thought of doing that but it makes sense once he explains it. Will have to show the tribe because I know if I was going to do this without showing them first they'd think I'd gone mad and was going to ruin good bacon.
Always a different way to do things.

Heh, likewise, would never have thought of it, don't do bacon much but next time might give it a go.
Cheers

Ok. Done some testing with this. I'll say it works. But here's my lessons. 1) It doesn't matter if you have 10 slices or 1 slice. 1 cup of water in a 10" frypan is HEAPS. 2) Induction cooktops suck for this. Better results on a gas burner. 3) It adds about 30 - 40% onto cooking time.
The most notable part of this is that the fat crisps up more. Makes it much more pleasant to eat.
So. Definitely worth doing. But don't follow his instructions for water. 1 cup of water. Heaps. Regardless how many slices of bacon.

Smokey,
i have done this. as aydee writes.....adds time to your cook.
it is probably the best way to do bacon, but, it is not recommended for a quick fry up.
and the peeps who enjoyed it were totally freaked when they saw the method.
