Hi all,
I just purchased my new Weber Q220 on the weekend and set it up ready for its first run. What I have noticed is that if you cook using direct style, the fat/juices will drip down beneath the grill and land in the base 'bowl' before draining through the base drain hole and into the drip tray on the underside of the bowl.
Before I do my first cook, is there a liner or something to line the internal base of the bbq with? Do I need to; or can the fat/juices drip onto the base?
Regards, Greg

Just let them drip down, give it a clean every 3 months or so, scrape it off with a plastic scraper. Empty the drip tray out after every few cooks replace it as required..

I just, having a bit of an aversion to throw away aly trays, put a cheap non-stick baking dish under the drip and give it a clean, when I remember - not going to eat that so not fussed. I'd sort of regard a liner as being unsanitary, stuff is just going to sit there. Cheers

Thanks.
I shall abandon the liner idea.

It's like any question, worth asking, but if there is anything that I know about cooking it is that over-thinking and over complication offers absolutely no guarantee of better or safer food Cheers
