I just bought this one a couple of weeks ago. I already have two others that are much bigger but I wanted a small one because most of the time I'm just cooking for myself. It's also ideal to make broths in. www.amazon.com/Crock-Pot-SCR200-B-Manual-Cooker-Quart/dp/B004P2LEE0Not only do I like it, I liked the price of it even better. I figured at that price, even if it turned out to be a dud, just toss it in the trash. But as I said I've been very happy with it for what I want to do with it.

I could use a smaller one like that, particularly when making a side that rules out my 6 lt one. Thats good buying ST

Thanks, smokey. As I said, I have a couple of big ones but if your just cooking for one or two and you are at home to keep an eye on it or you want to cook some broth or as you said a side dish I think that one is a pretty good choice and the price wasn't anything to complain about either.

I haven't looked for a while but I haven't seen small ones on the market here in quite a while.
I had one years ago that was from memory 2 litres, it was very useful, right up until it died and there was no replacement to be had.
Cheers

smokey, I'd say that depends on what you want to do with it. As I said before, I bought mine to cook small meals for myself and make broths in. I have bigger ones should need to cook more. I have an awesome big one that is programmable. You can set a cook time and temp. and then go off and leave it and when it's done it automatically goes into a warming mode. You can go to work, come home and have dinner waiting for you. Kind of like having a wife only without the aggravation. Mine is in black and doesn't have the locking lid but this is essentially what I have. www.amazon.com/Crock-Pot-SCCPVL610-S-Programmable-Carry-Cooker/dp/B004P2NG0K

I genuinely hope that you love your wife and she loves you and you have a great relationship but being told what I can and can't have is one of the reasons I don't HAVE a wife. What exactly are you looking for in a meat slicer? I don't have one myself but I have used them extensively working in commercial kitchens but it kind of sounds like that's not exactly what you're looking for. Something like this? www.cabelas.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=1843125&type=product&MDK=dynbanP_SL&MDCTrust me you don't even want to know what an automatic commercial slicer costs.
