I visited Classic Fireplaces Geelong today and had a chat to Damon. They will be selling the GMG pellet BBQs and are just awaiting stock.
I have asked him to reserve a Davey Crocket Portable with WiFi for me. Just need to get the OK from Jill. I guess that I will have to sell my Traeger. If you know of anyone in Melbourne who wants to buy a Traeger 075 for a good price - for forum members - $400 then give me a yell - That price is not negotiatable as I will advertise it for $600.
I want the Davey Crocket for the Winnebago.
Cheers
Phil

$600 for a used Traeger 075 would be a good price here in the States, $400 would be a Great price! $400 over there....fugetaboutit...once in a life time buy! I would venture to guess it was sold before I ever made this post!

Are you trying to get me killed? I'm looking for BBQ number 6 and that offer comes up.
Better not, although if Kev doesn't buy it I'll be sorely tempted.
Need to find an excuse to take the family to Melbourne to visit relo's. Can you recommend where I can get a set of industrial ear muffs for the trip back?

I'd love it but don't need it desperately enough to live through the trouble it'd get me in.
10 hours each way with three kids fighting on the backseat and the missus being cranky. 5 will have to do.
Sorry Phil. It'll find a good home and at the price you want it won't take long.

Well the decision has been made. I am going to advertise the Traeger, a OTS kettle and my old Q220 for sale in the next 2 weeks, I need to downsize my collection. Iam going to buy the GMG Davey Crockett to replace them. I still have the Baby Q for the quick cooks, I am going to take it out of the Winnebago when I am not travelling to use it. That will leave me with a Performer, a Genesis E320, a Go Anywhere, a Hibachi, a Q120 and the GMG Davey Crockett pellet grill (with wifi) and my old toolbox smoker (For hot smoking fish)
I have heard and read great reports about grilling on the GMG DC and am looking forward to doing that. Also looking forward to converting some of my recipes for cooking on the GMC DC. What finally helped me make the decision was the fact that someone won the chicken category at the Royal using one.
I will probably buy another Weber Q a little further down the track as I ay need a Q3200 for development and testing for my new Q cookbook, I will be able to do most on the Baby Q but will need to look at the temperatures and gas settings for the Q300 series.

nath,
thining down your weaponary is a must every now and then.
i used to say that every one of the 12 BBQs i had, did something just a little better than the others,
but that was only because i could not let the orphans go.
what helped me was............a move from stink city to the sticks.
now i am down to my trusty WSM, the mighty T machine, GORDY, and the 200,
so far i have not missed the rest, well maybe the old timer a little, it got me thinking outside the box. and boy did i have to invent some weird things just to do a simple cookout on it.
good call on your downsizing Capt', and have fun with your new portable

I could loose a few to unclutter the porch and make the missus happy Lots of dust collecting Could possibly move on the kettle and WSM Or build a small Stratco garden shed as I think out of the missus sight might work.

Picked it up Saturday however it is now Tuesday and I havent had time to unpack it and set it up. I have some beef marinating in the fridge waiting to turn into jerky but it looks like it will be Wednesday before that happens.
