Crikey, it's October in a few days. Time to give the BBQs a spring clean, not an easy task when you own 9.
i am sitting back thinking about what I want to achieve with my BBQ hobby/passion this season apart from the general day to day cooking. There are so many things but at the moment I am a bit time poor.
i definitely need to finish the rewrite of my Weber Q cookbook, I am thinking about changing the format yet again and doing it in protein sections with sub sections for different cooking methods of that protein. The first section will be dedicated to the different cooking methods and the best uses of them and the type of results you can get.
i also would like to put a herb and spice section and a marinade section. These would focus more on mixing your own to your tastes. I also want to have recipes where you just use simple items and make quick dishes. I would also like to call upon the likes of Shayne and others to use some of their great recipes which I will modify to do on the Q Series and add them to the book. Let's face it Shayne is the Duck Master of all the Aussie BBQ forums.
i do have a kettle cookbook that I wrote and sold to help offset the costs of a BBQ comp entry some years ago, although I didn't win a prize they used my chicken dish for the write up on the comp on page 3 of the local rag.
the other goal I want to achieve is to develop recipes for the baby Q for camping/caravaning/ motorhoming. Simple tasty dishes that don't require many ingredients or long prep time.
i welcome an suggestions from you all.
cheers
Phil
