"Poy-kee" A few pic's of my Potjie, These are a lot of fun. I have the No 3 size, Big enough for a large family however only really any good for caseroles like this lamb shank vin. Cant bake bread in them as you cant get the bread out . The coldren thing is cool though.

My partner, being from SA would love this! Might have to see if I can find a second hand one! Its pretty much just a camp oven on legs?

Yeh, pretty much just a camp oven. From the Dutch settlers. I dont think there is any magic in them over a normal Aussie camp oven but they are large and have a wow factor. Saying that, The round shape makes it easy to stir the pot and heat distribution is very even. Im about ready to do a large pea & Ham soup in it with the left over ham bone I have from Christmas. That brand I have is "Best" from SA ,, Rough as guts casting. There is a Chinese one getting around that is probably better cast. I die ground the inside to a smooth (er) surface. Toil toil bubble and trouble

awesome being of Dutch heritage I should know that! I'll keep my eye out for one, don't really fancy picking up one new, bit pricey for what they are. Heading to SA at the end of the year (well Zim actually) can't wait, hopefully have some traditional potjie meals
