Anyone up for it? Steak and kidney, Tripe,, Lambs fry,, whatever. Maybe something you grew up with and need to face those demons. Have a think about it . It's a challenge and not a comp so no voting. Just taking you to the edge of your culinary limits. Give me the nod and I'll set up a special sub page. Discuss here.

See what I can do noel, has been a few weeks but I think I remember how - ought to, damned near grew up on it However I'm sure we have others with good ideas for offal of all types. I haven't done tripe in ages, hardly ever see it to buy, have had kidneys not too long ago, wife has an aversion to hearts after an angiogram The humble lambs fry can be transformed though, we'll see Cheers

I'd love to see your take on lambs fry Davo,, Your from the same breed as me . Re the tripe, I'll tell the kids it's fish. Who am I kidding, I'm never going to get this past the missus. This is going to be bloody hard.

This is going to be bloody hard. Dunno if this'll work Mick...if you got a chemist warehouse near you, go there and buy some liquid fish oil or krill oil and run the tripe through that, if anything, the kids will get a healthy dose of Omega3 fatty acids but yeah.....it'll be hard convincing. Years ago though, I tried a Philipino dish called Dinaguan or something like that which was tripe of the casing of an ox belly cooked in Ox Blood and it was pretty bloody good till they told me what it was.....but i kept it down it had a kind of a mushroom taste....i was quite tanked at the time and bloody hungry so i went 2nds lol. Not sure how Mum did the lambs fry but I'm sure it was just shallow frying in a pan with the bacon and dousing it with gravy when on the plate.....always on the toast...yummo!! cheers Davo

That'll be a pass for me but enjoy guys.
Too many hungover Sundays waking up at the then girlfriend, now wife's parents place to crumbed brains or lambs fry and bacon.
Not one fond memory at all.
Don't mind a crab stick though even when I know it's not crab.
Outside of a beast for me.

That'll be a pass for me but enjoy guys. +1 on that too Next time i go to Cabra, i will get a few pictures of the delicucies sitting in trays behind the numerous BBQ shop windows. Tripe is commonly seen, but the rest of the bits and peices that are on display, i have no idea what they are,,,,,,, innards or gizzards of something Then theres the sweet & sour Chicken feet that are a must try............ Hey folks, if you're looking for a good Tripe recipe do a search for a Philippine dish called Menudo. It has Tripe, Ox Tail, peanuts, and a few veges in it. It was one of my favourites when I lived over there.

Always quite liked tripe, used to work for a mainly Asian company where chicken's feet were a regular at staff lunches, they are ok, but never been a fan of brains. Cheers

We all have some minor food aversion or another I guess Shayne, mine are few and far between but brains, possibly because of the horrible tasting ones I once had in a smoke saturated place in Buenos Aires, is not something I seek out. On the other hand I've eaten some damned strange and tasty things in Asia, but I rarely ask what it is exactly Cheers
