Spotted these at Coles today and first time ever seen..
I just had to get a snappy of these cuties
Pricey little suckers, as I quietly placed this birdy back into the fridge, then moved on
I like chicks that carry more meat.....

No pic, going to assume quail ? They do come and go, can't get interested myself either, had them a few times at over-priced functions, very over-rated IMO Edit: Ah pic came up when I refreshed - spatchcock - yeah, they used to be pretty popular, never did figure out why, not worth it. Cheers

Exy but gee they are tasty, You get white meat right through. no Idea why so expensive considering they haven't eaten bugger all. I did to spot them at Coles but were way way over the top. I'd rather play with quail at that price. The oily little buggers.

Never been able to get entusiastic about cooking a bird that won't have any leftovers.
Cooking shows rave about them so they must be good but I've got a teenager that would need two of these and then there's the rest of us.
One day maybe. When he's over at a mates place.

The meat is delicious and tender. It would be ten years since Ive done them and I did them regularly when it was just the two of us. I used to brine them in champaign brine and bake on a bed of halved tomatoes and sundry. I must try and track that recipe down.

That is the problem with them AM, no argument, great meat but when a mate gets them he needs four to feed three people Cheers
