Hi All
Well at last I am back from my epic European Adventure. What a great trip, I wont bore you with the details, suffice to say Jill and I had a wonderful time and have a lot of new recipes and inspiration to work on.
My first set of dishes will be Chicken followed by Mussels. I went to a resteraunt in Glascow called Mussels and the owner and I spent some time discussing our best recipes, he is going to add 2 of mine to his Menu, one as a starter and one as a main.
Thank you all for your participation in the forum. It is a credit to you all that the forum has started to flourish with the high quality of posts and recipes and without the BS that exists elsewhere.
It is our intention to keep it that way.
Welcome to ChrisG as an Admin, he and Smokey are working on the back end of the forum to keep it running and ensure you have a hassle free use. I will be doing the day to day mod/admin tasks, I got the easy job due to the quality of members here.
Welcome to all the new members, thank for joining. We are also starting to get a lot of visitors here, we hope that they like what they see.
While I was away I gave a lot of thought to the subject of competitions and judging dishes in "What Did You Cue" I came to the conclusion that altough it has some merit it is best if we do not proceed with any plans for it. The best judges of those dishes is you and your family. If you think that the dish is worthy of posting in the WDYC then it already is a winner. The WDYC is about showcasing your achievements and that in its self gives you bragging rights.
One of the great things that Smokey did when creating this forum was to ensure that it covered all types of cooking from; slow cookers, ovens, woks etc. There are so many recipes that we can convert to cover all of these types of cooking as well as converting their recipes to something that we all love to do - which is BBQ. By doing this, it also becomes a resource for our partners and may help give inspiration for different dishes for them also.
Finally this is your forum, we look forward to your comments and suggestions. We do ask is that you message either Me or Smokey with your comments and suggestions rather than post them, as we may already be working on it or have considered it before. We do not want to bog down the forum with discussions about things that may have the potential to create a rift between members like they do elsewhere.
The saying of the week - Success comes in cans, Failure comes in can nots.
Cheers Guys and Thanks
Phil
