I've made a windshield for it, and the silver bar at the front is only used when grilling skewers.

from memory, This the lodge ? Looks like your taking good care of it, Nice and seasoned. Looking for a lodge on the second hand market , one day one will pop up.

Smokey it is one of the BBQ Galore copies of the lodge, sells for about $100.00. If you look on ebay you can get a Lodge for around $145.00 which is what I'll do next time. The grill is very well seasoned and I've found you have to keep the rest of it well oiled and the charcoal ash vacuumed out of it or the acidity rusts everything very quickly. The charcoal grill on mine will need replacing shortly and BBQ Galore can't/won't supply a spare part, I'm going to have them up at Fair Trading because they advertise that they stock the spares for all their BBQ's.
This little unit gets a helluva workout with just the 2 of us here, and it does a steak to die for.
