Just devastated................
Today, I harvested a couple of dozen Jalapeno's, in anticipation for some up and coming ABT's and guess what,,, at least 1/2 were blown by the fly
Like, I see the adult fly harassing my Tommies but hey, I didn't think they would be interested in Chillie, what with the heat and all.
I guess I under estimated this troublesome pest, and it looks like, moving forward, I will need exclusion net my Chillie plants as well as my Tommies.
Fair dinkum, ya cant have nothin

Spinosad knocks em out and it's organic. What used to be Derris dust for toms is now spinosad. Try add a table spoon of tomato powder with a little white oil to a 1.5lt spray pack and spray often. I use it religiously but not when the plant is in flower. Kills bees

I use the Hortico tomato dust as it also has Sulfur and copper as well as spinosad so it is also good for fungal infection. Tip, Shake the spray bottle often or you might have clogging issues and re spray after rain as its not systemic. Only works while it's there. It's also a cheap way to go about making up a multy purpose garden pest spray.

I use the Tomato dust on the foliage for the green grubs, and spray the fruit with a mix that SWMBO boils up out of garlic and chillies. Watered down a bit it sticks to the fruit and even keeps the fly out of the eggplants. Should work on chillies and capsicums too
