I've tried my best to build a new forum for you guys and I have gotten absolutely nothing but grief and complaining and now I have been removed as an admin here when I wasn't even doing anything here in the first place.
As I said in the thread title, I'm DONE. It's bleeping over mates. It's OVER.
I've tried my absolute best but this has gone from ideas, discussion, reasonable people can agree to disagree to anything I do is wrong and idiots trying to tell me how to design a web forum.
If you want to come over and visit MY forum you are more than welcome to do so. If you don't, then that's okay to.
But I am DONE with having idiots telling me how to design a forum and arguing with everything I do.
I'll just say again, it's over mates. It's bleeping OVER.

Now that you have called us idiots, I think it's best that you are done.
Everyone looked at your forum and made their choice. I'm sorry but I cannot make a lick of difference to how people respond to it.

Well if you are so temperamental that you can't stand constructive criticism, which you asked for, then it may be best to go. I don't like your attitude so I've resigned from Southern Thunder.

Shame its turned out like this but sometimes stuff happens.
I observed, predominantly from the sideline,the whole ongoing saga of creating a new forum and got the distinct impression that while you offered to help us make a forum you didn't really want to listen to what we wanted and were happy to make it a cooking forum in your design not a BBQ forum in ours.
I may be a lot of things, but I'm not an idiot.
Nothing gets Australians more annoyed than being asked for an opinion and then told it's not what you wanted to hear, may as well have an extra wife.I regularly counsel my 10 year olds for reacting in a similar way to the way you have when they do not get what they want, eventually they will grow up and stop calling people idiots or stupid because they have the audacity to have a different opinion.
I will thank you for your time and effort and wish you well for the future of your forum, go and enjoy doing what you do and let us enjoy doing what we do.

Thanks for your efforts , sorry it didn't work out , but let's face it you were being a boofhead and wouldn't listen. As you said it is YOUR forum, not the members forum. They voted with their feet just as you are doing. But the members didn't call you an idiot. You had to resort to that level, so who is displaying those tendencies.
In doing that you alienated all of the members of this forum including me.

I think you and I can both shake virtual hands and regret that it didn't turn out better. I'll admit that I can have a bad temper at times but I don't have any reason to think that you or anyone else here is an idiot. I think I know a hell of a lot more about web development and IT in general than you do, but that doesn't mean I think your an idiot. I granted your request and removed you as a moderator over at the other place but I genuinely hope that you will reconsider. You and I could work together and build a great forum. I am not at all trying to tell you what you should do, I'm just saying what I think. |

I hope you will reconsider and give it a chance and no it's not "my forum" it was from the beginning meant to be OUR forum. I won't claim that I'm some kind of angel but I do at least try to be a good man and I truly wanted for the new forum to work out for all of us. Please stick around and give it a chance. I will add you to the list of people to apologize to. Not only do I not think you're an idiot, I don't even know you. Sure, sometimes in life, things go in a direction you don't like but in this case, it doesn't have to be that way. I'll say again, we can all hang together on the new forum and make it work. I am utterly certain of that. And yes, while it's true that I want to have a general cooking forum I have no objection whatsoever to having a BBQ section and I've added a lot of boards devoted to that kind of cooking. |

I'll admit that if you push my buttons in the right combination, I can do a dummy spit that would match any child in the world but I truly don't want for it to be that way on the new forum. ChrisG will tell you that I can spit my dummy all of the way across the room but again, not what I want the new forum to be about. Thanks for saying I'm a swell guy. At the moment, my 10 year old scanner is DOA but I have another one on the way and I plan on posting all kinds of stuff. |

Yes Tricky is a longtime friend of mine from another forum but I have said, he made a mistake, I've told him he made a mistake and he admits he made a mistake.
He didn't know that what he posted was against our rules anymore than you knew he was a friend of mine.
Again, I don't want for it to be this way but if you don't want be here then ban me.
I give you my word that I won't do anything to try to get around the ban.
BUT, I will say that it terms of me not being the kind of person who should run your group. That is again your choice but I just want to say that I'm almost 40 years old and I have ALWAYS stood up for what I thought was right. I'm not trying to toot my own horn but I am an honest person who tries to do what I think is right. I'm genuinely sorry that things have come to this point but we have reached the point of, we can try to work things out, which is what I would like or you can ban me and have nothing to do with my forum.
Totally your decision and if I were to ever happen into you in real life, I'd stick my hand out and tell you that I was glad to meet you.
It's totally your choice.

Im sure you could do me real damage both here and in my business with your IT skills and frankly you scare me with your attitude.
I didn't start this forum to get into a war. I just needed a little help to make Aussie Cue outside of probaords.
I think I can speak for most?? One that I run and own.
I mentioned this to admin here as an analogy.
Im a real life football coach.
I found a bunch of talented players that may or may not be quite happy with their lot and approach them and offer a new team where their talent will be used and appreciated.
I found a team and as happens loyalty and respect develops. The most important thing in life really and does not just happen, It's earnt
As a coach I just cannot tell the team " Well, I'm done you all have to go with this new bloke now"
That wasn't quite the deal and never will be.
You are hell bent on your idea of a forum so go for it, I started with less people in the first few weeks then what you have. Build your team just like a sports coach does, Gentle encouragement and making the game fun.
Lastly, The coach needs to have played the game at some stage to truly understand his team. He does not have to be better then them, Just have a respect and understanding to nurture their ability.
